TRANSMITTER/TRANSCEIVER ALIGNMENT
When you transmitter/transceiver arrives, it is unpacked and carefully inspected for any damage it may have sustained prior to arrival at our shop. If undamaged, the unit will be powered up to determine if it is serviceable. If not serviceable, you will be contacted to determine if you want the equipment evaluated and a status and repair recommendations report provided to you. If it is serviceable, the realignment work will be scheduled and you will be sent an estimate of when the equipment will be shipped back to you. The alignment procedure will be done according to factory procedures, provided in the manufacturer's manuals or service bulletins. After alignment, the set will be tested "live" using suitable dummy load as well as monitoring equipment. The receiver portion of a transceiver will be tested "live," using suitable amateur antennas. If issues are discovered as the transmitter/transceiver is being aligned, i.e. weak tubes or a bad crystal, or a modification exists which keeps the alignment process from continuing, you will be contacted with our recommendations for additional servicing. If you agree, the work will be done and the alignment procedure will be completed.
